What is REACH?

REACH is the new Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. It entered into force on 1st June 2007. It streamlines and improves the former legislative framework on chemicals of the European.

NOVA Declaration to REACH

According our understanding and our request it was confirmed to us from the Federal Ministry for Business, Health and Social, that we - as importer of resistors and capacitors - are not concerned from this new regulation.

According to article 7 section 1, an importer of products is obliged to register a substance if the substance contained in the imported products is equal in volume to one tonne or more in total per year and per importer and can be expected to be released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.
This does not concern resistors and capacitors which we import from outside the EU.

As distributor, we do not have an own development or production in our house, we depend on the declaration of our represented European manufacturers. As soon as we have those declarations we will let you know.

NOVA additional declaration from 9th Dec. 2008

The "Annex XV" dossiers for the identification of substances of very high concern (SVHC) has been published by ESHA.
As a result, we now have to comply with the duty to communicate information regulations under Article 33, 1 of the REACH legislation. We have informed our suppliers about the publication through ECHA of the list of candidate substances, and have pointed out the resultant obligation to communicate information within the supply chain.

The lawmakers have not yet precisely defined the "reasonable period of time" to comply with the duty to communicate information. As soon as this "reasonable period of time" is determined, we will inform you of this on this webpage. Our objective is to comply with the duty to communicate information as early as possible within the "reasonable period of time."
